Our Story

ResQR was born from personal experience. After witnessing friends and family involved in motorcycle accidents, we saw firsthand how critical those first minutes are. When riders are critically injured, figuring out who they are and who to contact becomes a desperate race against time.

In South Africa, the challenges are even greater. ICE contacts stored on phones become useless when devices are stolen within minutes. Trying to remember phone numbers in high-stress emergency situations is nearly impossible. We knew there had to be a better way.

2. Critical Information Display: Your medical conditions, allergies, medications, blood type, and emergency contacts appear in a high-contrast, emergency-optimized interface designed for quick reading
3. Emergency Declaration: The first responder must declare an emergency to activate the notification system
4. Scan Logging: Once declared, the system automatically records comprehensive details: timestamp, location (IP address), device type, browser, and operating system
5. Real-Time Notifications: You instantly receive SMS and email alerts informing you that an emergency was declared, complete with all scan details
6. Emergency Contact Alerts: Your designated contacts are immediately notified with your location and attending first responder details

Why Declaration Matters: This prevents accidental scans from triggering emergency notifications. Only when a genuine emergency is confirmed do your contacts receive alerts, ensuring they're not alarmed unnecessarily.

For Family Profiles: If you've created QR codes for children or elderly relatives, all notifications are intelligently routed to your parent account while clearly identifying which family member's code was scanned.
